All,
Some of you may have used my email based predictor for satellite passes.
I've revised it to include a "long report" that will show not only the
AZ/EL, but also the solar angle, distance away from the observer, Squint
angle to the observer and the MA. All of this information is given to you
in small time increments.
If you'd like to try this out... please do the following.
Send an email to igor@highrf.com
In the Subject, please include your callsign (although the information is
not used for anything, it will just help me know who send the request if you
have troubles)
In the body of the message include a version of the following
predict ao-40 atlanta,_ga EDT 4 longpr
to get a list of satellites that are available to be predicted... you may
also issue a command
predict list
The exact syntax of the PREDICT command is as follows.
Predict <satname> <location near you> <timezone> <number of days for
predictions> <report format>
<satname> - can be any currently active satellite, see predict list above.
Does not have to include the "-", I've allow with and without
<location new you> - the database of cities includes most major metropolitan
cities around the world. Please note the syntax... use the "_" for a space
and commas where needed... Examples.... Salt_Lake_City,_UT, Los_Angeles,_CA,
etc
<timezone> - currently it only support the US based timezone and a few of
the Japan and Hawaii based ones. For the rest of you, use UTC for obvious
reasons
<number of days for prediction> - this is pretty obvious I think. It is the
number of days that you want predictions for.
<report format> - ok, new command here. You may use "shortpr" - this will
give a standard prediction format like...
