AO-40 MB Guardband

This is not anything official. Just a polite personal request.
Please try to avoid swishing or transmitting on or near
the the uplink freq that corresponds to the Ao-40
MB (middle beacon). On Orb 263 t on 05-11-01
at 13:40 UTC there was at least one North American
station interfering with the beacon. Even a brief dit or
two will corrupt an entire telemetry block.
It is now going on 15 minutes with a station(s)
testing on the MB frequency....
Please remember that this is not a LEO bird.
Obliterating the telemetry affects almost an entire hemisphere!
If you are not sure of the doppler or the math, please do not
try to work just 5 Khz from the beacon. Needless to say,
(I hope) that adjusting uplink power by comparing your
signal to the MB while on the MB frequency is not
a good technique.
Thanks for being considerate to those of us receiving
telemetry.
Flames welcomed... And quickly plonked!
Constructive criticism always read.
