The old filters are very easy to desolder once you remove the metal cover. I
use a small Metcal soldering iron that has a very fine tip and can solder a
truck bumper to a bus. It uses 13 MHz RF to heat up the tip. There is
nothing to damage around the filters. Just be very careful around the input
FET and the inductor that sits in the air. This FET is very sensitive to ESD
so ground yourself before touching it.
