We have a McMaster-Carr catalog that has literally, anything and everything
hardware. I don't know their ordering policy, or if they are on the web, but they
list fiberglass rod on page 2773 of Catalog 102, as follows:

These are slightly old, list prices. I believe they offer discounts under certain
conditions. Their rods start at 1/8" and go up to 1-1/2". They have all manner of
other plastics, e.g. delrin/teflon, garolite, nylon, etc. The catalog is daunting in
the breadth of items they carry (it's 2952 pages long!).
