RE: coax cables

Hi Jerry,
I am located in Caracas. I am running here an Icon-735 with a Cubic Quad-3
bands antenna 20 meters high..This week was my first attempt to work Rs-12
bird and was surprised at the strength of the signals coming down from its
beacon on 29.408.I have an excelent copy of this bird. For the uplink I have
the FT-51R using a vertical antenna from a local dealer without success.
With the help of the hams in this list and reading some web pages I am
trying to setup an usefull station. My plans are to change the vertical
antenna for a beam Quagi 8 elements (uplink) following your desing (this
weekend).Then, try to reach Rs-12. For LEO's about 435Mhz(downlink), a good
one would be the egg-better II but the coax RG62 for the parsing line is
impossible to find here, so a vertical groundplane 1/4 is a good choice and
easy to build antenna. RG8 will be the feedline.
Any help will be welcome.
See you on the birds (RS12!!!).
73,
Richard Bassan
YV5MCD.

within range of you on most satellites. Tell me what equipment you have and
perhaps I can help you work a few contacts in Mexico and USA. Also listen
for stations in FG5 and KP3.
