Jesse,

I can't speak specifically for the 847, but I do know that the
IC-820/821 definitely will operate full-duplex, but will not receive
below 136 MHz.  But then neither will it transmit below 144 MHz in its
stock configuration, which is a good thing.  Buy a downconverter crystal
to set 2400 MHz = 140 MHz, and have no worries about transmitting into
the downconverter (well, almost none...).
