I suspect U/S and L/S will be popular modes. V/S may have a bit of a show
as well, as the V band Rx and high gain antenna is also working fine,
according to reports.
U/S and V/S are good combinations form those with commercially built rigs
and the cheap MMDS converters. I'm likely to try U/S first, while building
my L band uplink. Will have to look at converters for 450 -> 28 MHz so I
can use SSB on 2400 MHz, can go as low as 25-26 MHz and it'll work with all
of my receivers, which gives terrestrial reception on 2403 as well.
Anyone know of a reasonable 70cm - 10m converter design? It would need to
be reasonably cheap, use readily available (in VK) parts. Noise figure need
not be too flash, and conversion gain need not be too high, as the converter
will be operating after the 2.4 GHz converter. Will probably have to get a
crystal cut specifically for this job (due to the odd frequency offset), so
will need crystal specs for the design as well for ordering purposes.
Anyone able to help?
