actually, i would think that with the many people that have purchased and
converted the drake down converters and made helices or bought bbq grills,
the prefered mode at this time would be 70cm up and 2.4g down. this way,
you also have the necessary equipment to download the beacon. 1.2g is
nice but will require further purchases beyond what most have already done
to receive the beacon on 2.4g.
don't forget that when the spacecraft is operational, part of the beacon data
will be the satellite created keps.
