In fact, from what I understand there's only the merest indication that U-TX is
totally dead too--we do know it has never worked on the omni but it's only been
very briefly tested on the high-gain at a fairly yukky squint angle--I gathered
that the fact that the temp was rising on the transmitter and the G-force from
the high spin rate was keeping the heat pipes from working was the reason they
chose not to pursue the testing further at that time. 

We still don't know more than we know...
