Re: Conifer Update

G'day Tony, Have just tried a pass of UO-11 ( 12-Mar-2001 04:32 UTC ) and
can hear it about as strong as I normally do so it is operating. If you are
using FM to try and hear it you will have no hope, I am using SSB and it is
a weak signal with HUGE doppler shift ( on a high pass maybe 100KHz of
doppler for the pass ). The UO-11 sig only realy comes out of the noise
above about 20 - 30 deg for me. UO-11 is not something that is easy to find
with a hand held antenna, as it moves quickly and then there is the doppler
to contend with. Keep trying and good luck. P.S. even AO-40 which is much
stronger is not too easy to hear on FM. If you want to try your setup on air
AO-40 is the easier of the 2. I will get back to you about an ATV sig on
23cm, have to go to work.

Cheers Geoff VK3JDG
