I agree.  Even though I am not hooked up for transmitting, I played
with DIGIpan and tried to carry on make believe QSO.s using the MACROS 
and 10 seconds would be terse indeed. Good news, I found a 20 second
module at Radio Shack that I will order and try out.  20 seconds should be
much more useful...

One thing I am considering is to make the receiver sensitivity about match
a 25 watt 10m XMTR.  If everyone operates at about that power level to a
vertical omni antenna, then the path loss between all users will only vary
by less than 10 dB or so throughout the pass.  This will tend to keep
anyone from overloading the transponder.  We hope that everyone will play
fairly.

Only down side is that it will tend to make QRP operation difficult.
