RE: GRRRRRRRRRRR!



You are adding a linear component (making the system elliptical) to the mix 
by increasing the spacing.  It could be throretically tuned out, but how to 
do this is probably more complicated than it is worth.

BTW the advantage to the +/-45 degree spacing is that less switches/relays 
are needed for all polarizations (including H & V-- drive both sets of 
elements in phase or one 180 degrees out of phase to do H & V, 90 degrees & 
270 degrees for RHCP/LHCP)..
