I didn't want to make that kind of a post as I felt I would get flamed
into oblivion , but I too feel that crimped pins (if done correctly )
will outlive a soldered one in a high vibration environment.

And since that is what is going to happen at least till you get in space
(now I am talking out of my league ) , or so it seems , then to be able
to find someone to crimp your wire ends would definately help its
reliability.

Just going from my own experience on this one ( not in a spacecraft of
course ) ....
