I've not seen many reviews of the iCom but here's what I know:

1.) iCom has true dual receive (RX both bands at the same time). Kenwood
and Yaesu don't.
2.) The iCom has a higher power output than the Kenwood or Yaesu radios.
3.) The iCom does not have HF
4.) The iCom is pretty small from what I understand. The TS-2000 is the
biggest followed by the FT-847.
5.) The iCom cannot work RS-12/13 or RS-15 or any other bird containing 10m.
6.) The iCom doesn't have 6m either so you can't use it for your "VHF only"
rig.

So, if you are starting from scratch and don't want HF or 6m (say you
already have that), then the iCom is probably a good radio. However, if you
want everything all in one box, then the Kenwood or Yaesu are the better
choice. The Kenwood has the most bells and whistles, but I think it costs
the most too.

I have not compared receiver specs or anything so I can't comment on that,
audio quality, etc.
