I am thinking of building a small trailer (12' long inside by 7' wide) that
can be used as a demonstration ham station with hf and sat operations. I
have figured out how to move the base part of the tracking sat antenna into
and out of the trailer. The difficult part is how to transport the 2m and
70cm antennas to the operations site. I have traditional cp antennas but
they are too dangerous to hang from the inside ceiling of the trailer
(elements would point down and hit people [and me!!]). If I could use plain
yagis they could be tied almost flat to the ceiling during transport. I
already have the 2.4g barbeque grill ant. If I used mast mount pre-amps and
had 100w (2m), 75w (70cm), and 10w (1.2g) output power from the radio
(IC-910H) would that be enough to compensate for not having cp antennas?
