Im excited about the potential here too. Since PCsat has a 2m FM downlink
and it also has (maybe) some extra payload ounces and an extra ON/OFF
command switch, if someone could build us a 29.X MHz 10m SSB 3 Khz
wide receiver no larger than a cigarette pack, I might be able to
get it onboard. I'd love to do the project myself, but I am stretched
rather thin getting the rest of the satellite built...
It would have to listen off of our 19" 2m whip, but my calculations tell
me that this is no problem at all since ground users will be transmitting
with 25 watts so we can afford to give up 10 dB or more on the satellite
receive side...
No promises... but an opportunity... Shucks, build it and SOMONE will fly
it. There are LOTS of birds under construction...
