[amsat-bb] Icom PCR-1000 as receiver?

In an effort to prevent frying any downcoverters, I've been looking into 
the Icom PCR-1000 computerized receiver.  For less than $350 US, it seems 
like it might be a good purchase.

Does anybody on the list own one and have any impressions?

Anybody see a reason NOT to use it with a Drake 2880, for example?  (other 
than Doppler control, or something like that)
