I noticed with momentary dismay that my box (I mean, the one the Drake shipped
in) 
rattled too, but when I opened the box the rattle turned out to be the mast 
mounting hardware: U-bolt/nuts/washers and so forth. 

I did *not* notice a rattle from the 2880 itself, and believe me, I checked!

So I don't think they're *all* like that.
