[amsat-bb] Yaesu VR-5000

I want to obtain a Yaesu VR-5000 receiver.  Is this receiver suitable to
receive sattelites on the higher frequenties.  For example on 23 and 13 cm.
I also want to know of this receiver is suitable to receive high speed
packet.  Can you use the IF 10.7 Mhz connector for this.

Is the VR-5000 a good choice or is the new AOR receiver AR8600 a better
choice?
