The sun sensor is essentially a two slit telescope detector.  James Miller
has
an excellent theory of operation page on his web site.

Please notice that the approximate field of view is +/- 45 deg
from the sun direction being perpendicular to the solar panels.

Peter's statement was clear if reading had been done.
Happy to have the statement and to know that they lack
of change in attitude is due to a pause.
