Yes you're right. It does mute when the frequency changes. This is a
'feature' of the radio.

Now I had started to get my programming gloves on: it looked like the only
way to change frequency without muting is by steping the frequency. But it
turns out there's another way...

If you sample the audio from the ACC 1 connector it isn't muted. Plug that
into your soundcard and away you go. That's what I like... a hardware fix
which was a hundred times easier than a software fix!

        I found also the bug yesterday, but I have not been able to get a
response from him. He must be passing these days out of the town. Thank you
for your patch. Does your AR-5000 somewhat mute when changing frequencies?
