Uh-oh. I'm using an FT-847 also. But there was FM rather than QSB on the signal
I heard, and the FM was related to activity in my computer. I wonder if the
"carrier" itself is a birdie, and the FM I'm hearing is spurious emissions from
my monitor getting mixed in the IF of the radio?
Heaven knows there's plenty of crap getting out of my video/monitor chain...I
have to switch the display to character mode on some HF bands to keep the noise
down.
