It was a pleasure.

I still remember less than 12 months ago now when I was in exactly the same
position, wondering if I'd ever make it without lots of expensive kit.

The FM sats _are_ 'easy' if no-one else is on them. As we both saw for
ourselves as the footprint started to enter into mainland Europe there were
a number of people TXing without even attempting to listen to the downlink.
The FM sats aren't at all easy if there's half a dozen stations on them
running 1000W erp.

But our QSO was the longest I've ever had on an FM bird. We almost had a rag
chew. Great timing!

I heard you trying to jump in a few other times too, so you _were_ making
it. Just a shame those 'gators were about.

But I'd like to publicly thank Howard G6LVB for my first ever satellite
contact.

I sort of fell into a sked which I probably wouldn't have made otherwise;
09:09UTC on AO-27 today. Luckily most of EU was trying UO-14 so we had the
bird to ourselves for the first couple of minutes.

I was starting to doubt my ability to use the ArrowII/HT combination but
Howard's helped to change that.

To all you Elmers, this final step of a sked has gotta be the way to confirm
all the lessons you may have taught.
