our local Amsat net

The Cowley County Vhf AMSAT Satellite Net (The EM17 group) has been active
since April 10 1994. We have added a new twist to the net as of November 5
2000. Greg NØZHE is doing a portion of that net via ATV with support from
John KAØOXY at his side, a special thanks to the IntraCity Uhf Club (NØHM
ATV repeater) for letting us use the ATV repeater.

Greg starts the net on ATV the same time that Ron N5SMJ starts the net on
the 2mtr side (WAØJBW repeater 145.190-). Greg takes check-ins and then
relays them to Ron. After the check-ins have been taken Greg reads the ANS
bulletins via ATV and 2mtrs, and takes comments and question from the ATV
check-ins if any.

The net is also broadcast onto the internet, using PalTalk just goto the
(cumputer-Hi Tech) chat room and then find the (Kansas AMSAT net). Bill
WØOQC runs the feed for the internet.

This net has an average of 20 check-ins per week and some weeks close to 30.
The main goal of this net is to provide up to date information reguarding
amateur radio satellite communications, and to share operating tips that the
experienced operators have gained over the years with others. such as
antennas, feed line, radios, satellite freq. tracking programs, satellite
visability, internet resources. and many more topics.

more information on the net can be found at their web page:
