Re: AO-10 ground station

I've been working AO10 regularly with CW with the following:

K1FO 12 Ele Long Boom 2m horiz polarized (no preamp) fed with 1/2 Andrew
Heliax over 80'. Antenna up 37'
K1FO 22 ele Long Boom 70cm 15.8 dBd horiz polarized and 50 watts fed with
7/8th Cablewave Heliax also over 80', up about 35'.

Radio is an FT-847, I use the internal Preamp. I get signals from S0-S5 at
times. Generally S1.

I can work AO-10 most of the time it's visiable to FN44ei. I have no
Elevation rotor.

I'm sure this is not optimum however, it does work. And I actually prefer
working terestrial comms with the flat-side yagi's.
