AO-40 Data

I'm a little confused, or more than a little. Seems like most of the
conversation is about 400 bps data coming from AO-40. A document that I
printed out on 10/7/00 from www.uk.amsat.org says the data will be 9600 bps.
Is it both, or different on different frequencies?
Bottom line is, I have a PK-96 that I have not had time to hook up. Will it
do me any good at this point?
Thanks!
