The brochures available on the Kenwood site make it much clearer the 2 m/70
cm is for dual-receive only (like the IC-820H/821H/910H), not necessarily sat
operation (which is separate port like the FT-847):
http://216.133.235.165/Amateur/Current_Brochures/TS-2000%20Specs.pdf
It appears to be the most comprehensive and capable rig ever! It has all the
features of the FT-847, plus IF-DSP, a built in HF tuner, a PC interface that
actually works, a built in TNC (with APRS functions), a built in memory
keyer, built in SWR meters, 23 cm capability, a remotable head (or complete
PC control like the Kachina/Pegasus). Unfortunately, it's coyote-ugly and
likely to cost $3k with 23 cm. ... and why doesn't it have 220 MHz?????
What it really needs to be the perfect rig is a voice keyer (like the
IC-756Pro) and 200 W on HF (like the Mark V).... oh well, maybe on the
TS-2001 :-)
