Welcome to the fraternity!  You're off to the right start with a gain
antenna.  It is amazing how little you need to use the FM birds.  Last week
I took 2 single band ADI HT's and an Arrow antenna to Costa Rica and had a
ball!  Hope some of the guys will start taking similar stations on vacations
to the Caribbean and other nearby places.  I've got a few more destinations
in the works.
