Re: Info needed on OO-38, WO-39 and Stensat



All the satellites launched on that launch are dead.  Space Junk.  OPAL may
still work but it is not well.

JAWSAT worked for few orbits, but then died.  Has never responded to
commands from the ground since.  No idea what happened.  It may still be
alive and just in some odd mode.
ASUSAT-1 worked great until it's batteries died (after 3 orbits I think).
There was a failure in the power harness that connected up the solar cells.
OPAL suffered a serious desense problem that required a huge dish at
Stanford to even communicate with.  It's main purpose was not amateur.  It
may still work but if it does it's probably in the college research realm of
things.  If it still suffers the desense problem, then it may be history.
STENSAT never worked.  It was ejected from OPAL but never heard from.
