Re: proposal for maximizing fm leo contacts



FWIW, I've used a 706MkIIG portable in a Cutting Edge WorldPack
(www.aesham.com) which neatly stores a 7Ah battery with it, plus a VR-500
all mode handie RX successfully with an Arrow on FO-20. Trouble with the
VR-500 is that its SSB is not true SSB, picking up both sidebands. Still
works though as long as no one else is working adjacent.

The 50W from the 706 on 2m is more than enough with an Arrow.
