Re: 2 meter uplink interference on 70 cm downlink

FWIW, in Europe we have interference from Trunk radio in the UK which is
directly around 420-425MHz. The SSB preamp I use suffers even though it has
a filter, but the filter's probably _including_ the Trunk radio band if it's
designed for use in the US too.

I have a DCI filter for 70cm which I've tried and it does improve things
significantly. However, they're not water proof, so I need to get them in an
enclosure before putting it permanently up the mast.

This won't stop any mode J desense from your 2m uplink. Jim's suggestion of
using the 2m portion of a V/UHF duplexer is a good recommendation, or if
you're feeling rich you could get yourself another DCI filter for 2m. You
can tell if it's mode J desense if you only get the interference when
transmitting.
