I agree completely.  I was only making an independed comparison of
identical EIRPs on 2 meters and 2.4 Ghz and making sure that people
undrstood that identical apature antennas are required, but that the
DIRECTIVITY changes drastically.

Yes, the link budget will not work to P3D to an omni.  But what ever
antenna directivity you use on 2m, it will be 13 dB narrower on 2.4
GHz for the same EIRP.  My choice of a 19" whip was not intended for the
P3D link budget, but only to show the big difference in directivity that
antenna gain makes.
