NOAA 15 - more



I recorded a pass last night (0325 UTC 25 July 2000),
and while the downlink was as strong as ever, the "image"
was a smeared, scrambled mess.

The lesson is clear: even pros, with budgets and resources
far exceeding AMSAT's, occasionally have satellites go bad.
At the very beginning it was the VHF antenna that jammed,
but eventually worked free. Then it was the HRPT transmitter.
Now it's the scanning mirror, and it looks terminal...
