Four radio balloons this July 15, 16th weekend in North America

All four have standard format APRS transmitters (not always standard
frequencies) on 2 meters this July 15, 16 weekend.

July 15 HABG 2000-4 North Dakota
    July 15 BEAR-2 Alberta, Canada
    July 15 STBLT Texas
    July 16 EOSS-42 Colorado

For all the details you'll need to tune in, please see the
HABLIC website which has concise, no frills launch notices and
links to the individual balloon project websites:

HABLIC recently celebrated its third anniversary and has surpassed
10,00 website hits. It is the source for up to date, easy to read ham
radio high altitude balloon launch data. With one exception (our own
SkyQuest hamradiosondes) these balloons always carry APRS.

Please keep in mind that balloons offer exciting tracking opportunities
with or without APRS receiving gear.

Signals are easily received with simple antennas (even as little as
a rubber duck and HT), and range can be 300 miles at peak altitude
and with an outdoor antenna.

Of course always lots of good balloon info at the AMSAT website; there
might be a balloon group near you:
