Fw: Fw: Ten-Tech and a 220 transverter

Hi All:

I received the following from Scott Robbins at Ten-Tec. The rumors that
the 526 would not be released are untrue. Ten-Tec sounds serious about
VHF/UHF weak signal.

I am very pleased that they will not release the new rig until it is RIGHT.
I want one. I will buy one.

Paul Goble and I have been kicking some ideas back and forth on what we
would like to see Ten-Tec design. Paul's latest:

"What we might look for here is a box with three slots in it (basically, a
transverter IF) which you could plug any three modules into, 6m through 13cm
(7 bands)."

This would be great. A 2M IF "box" with DSP in the IF, and room for three
plug-in modules. Imagine having the choice of 50, 222, 432, 900, 1296, and
2304/2401. With Phase IIID and the weak signal crowd, I think that the
market would be substantial.

If Ten-Tec were not interested in the higher bands, it would be great if
they would work with Down East Microwave to make the transverter modules for
432 and up.

Well, that's my dream, anyway.

73,

Woody
