hello everyone.
Could someone help a "technically challanged" tinkerer here?
I need a little help with a CT-17 CI-V interface from Icom.
Specificlly I need the schematic for the unit to repair it.
I think I took out the voltage regulator in it, but the number on the
regulator doesn't make sense to me. The numbers on the transistor are:
TA78L
I looked up the schematic that the ARRL has in the handbooks for this
type of interface and it's listed as a 78M05 voltage regulator.
Am I to assume that I could use a 78M05 to replace the one in the Icom
unit or should I use something else?
I got this unit for only twenty dollars at a swap a couple of years ago
and had to change out the MAX232 then. It has worked since till now.
Thanks in advance,
James KD4DLA
