If everyone ran 5 watts to 3 elements, that would probably be OK. But to
say that FD is for stations that are "non-fixed" I kind of differ. If I
haul my FT-1000D out along with a tent and a generator, I'd call that a
pretty fixed station. So I add an FT-847 or IC-821 and one or two sections
of big CP yagis. I know have an AO-10 capable station that is far more
effective than the FM birds with really no more equipment than my "portable"
HF setup.
