Tnx, Russ...I just finished a wonderful book loaned by friend:
                                  The Illustrated Longitude
                                        by Dava Sobel and William J. H. Andrews

Others may be interested...It is a chronological history about the way to 
solve the problem that we have probably all read in bits and pieces 
elsewhere.  And it is  most interesting the way the politics of the time 
are woven in....Guess nothing ever changes!

I look forward to the movie..
