All,
I've been waiting for uo-36 to come back around and be functional, and I've
been waiting to get my tower, ants, etc up. Well both happened tonight so I
thought I'd share my results.
I'm pretty happy, actually pretty impressed.
Eq on this end.
72' tower with
M2 (short) yagis in + config on an M2 cross boom
SSB preamps
170' of coax - don't ask! I have trees ok!
847 for tx
Icom pcr-1000 for rx
TAPR 56002EVM/RI for modem
I've hacked together the .17 release of the g38kruh code with the new leonid
bios, etc.
Bottom line, on a 58 degree pass tonight I got all but the last min of the
pass and there are the numbers.
I copied from 1:27:39 to 1:39:58 (utc) total bytes of 1827245, 2472 BPS and
93% eff!!!!! Awesome!!! I'm stoked
I can't wait for a 60+ pass and I'm going to set up the flags to determine
if the modem is running out of horsepower.
I read that this setup worked only marginally and that the code didn't work
very well. I'm not sure what that is in reference to? Anyone enlighten me.
I do have a new evm that clocks just fine at 68khz. The 50khz wide output
of the WFM (FM in widest mode, not WFM) on the pcr-1000 seems to work pretty
well to...
If anyone is interested in the code, I've put together a little zip file
with instructions, etc for setting it up on the evm.
Fun stuff!!!
Alan
