Re: Autoexec

Robert,

You have autoexec.bat hidden. To un-hide it, go to Windows Explorer. From
the menu bar, select View -> Folder Options and select the View tab. In
that window, under "Hidden Files," select "Show All Files." Once you've
done that, you can then go to your c:\ drive and right-click autoexec.bat
and get the menu. Select "edit" from the menu.

Either that, or you don't have an autoexec.bat file. Don't panic, Win95/98
doesn't need one to operate. Autoexec.bat and config.sys load non-32-bit
apps into memory and this helps to hog resources. If you don't have an
autoexec.bat file, you can create one. Go to Notepad and enter the
information you want in an empty file then do a "Save As" and type
autoexec.bat. When you save a file like this with notepad, you'll have to
right click on the file in Windows Explorer and rename it from
autoexec.bat.txt to autoexec.bat.

An easier way to create the autoexec.bat file is to go to an MS-DOS prompt
and type "edit autoexec.bat." This will present you with a blank screen.
You can enter your information in the screen. Do a "Save As" and save it as
C:\autoexec.bat.
