Re: Symek TNC-3S setup

Hi Jeyes,

There is a good article in the April QST by Stacey Mills, W4SM, that gives
good information.

1. In WiSP just set it up as a TNC-2.
2. Set the TNC port speed to at least 57600. This will have to be done for
all other satellites as well since the same TNC port speed will be used
with them also.
3. Depending on which modem you have in which TNC modem position, you will
have to set the TX Port (in WiSP, Satellite Setup, TNC Tab) to either 0 or
1. When set to 0, modem 1 will transmit. When set to 1, modem 2 will
transmit.
4. Set the TNC dip switches for KISS mode when it is powered up. Not
necessary, but convenient for satellite work.
5. Set your RX audio from the receiver to the TNC modem input to about
200-500mv p-p. Do not go higher than 500mv to avoid audio clipping by the
protective diodes in the modem front end.
6. Nothing to select on the receive side. Wisp will accept signals from
both modems.

That's it. Good luck and enjoy.
