[amsat-bb] Satellite Being Destroyed for Safety Reasons

The planned death this weekend of the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory -
the first time that NASA has intentionally crashed a satellite into the
atmosphere - will be a cataclysmic end to a venerable mission, but one
the space agency says is required by safety.
