Re: which tnc to buy ?

If you want to allow for future expansion into the higher speed satellites (38k4
and beyond with P3D), probably the best tnc at the moment is the Symek TNC3S
(http://www.symek.com). This tnc can have both a 38k4 and a 9k6 modem installed
together and will send the KISS output from both on the same serial port.

With this combination and their IFD board, you can setup a ground station that
can work both the 9k6 and 38k4 satellite downlinks without having to have any
unplugging and pluggin of cables.

The TNC is not cheap. The combined 9k6/38k4 combination would be about 880 DEM.

The big advantage is that this TNC will handle faster data rates up to about
1.6M.
