If you want to allow for future expansion into the higher speed satellites (38k4 
and beyond with P3D),  probably the best tnc at the moment is the Symek TNC3S 
(http://www.symek.com).  This tnc can have both a 38k4 and a 9k6 modem installed 
together and will send the KISS output from both on the same serial port.

With this combination and their IFD board,  you can setup a ground station that 
can work both the 9k6 and 38k4 satellite downlinks without having to have any 
unplugging and pluggin of cables.

The TNC is not cheap.  The combined 9k6/38k4 combination would be about 880 DEM.

The big advantage is that this TNC will handle faster data rates up to about
