Re: 10 mtr FM encroachment on satellite sub-band




Actually FM, F3E is legal in the USA on all HF channels where SSB and AM
is allowed.
The only limitation is that FM Bandwidth can not exceed the bandwidth of
normal AM (below 29 megs).
This is accomplished by setting the FM deviation to aprox 3kc when you
are at or below 29 megs.
>From 29 megs an up you can use 5kc deviation, which uses more bandwidth
than AM.
On the excerpt from the FCC part 97, the word Phone means all flavors of
phone AM , SSB and FM.
As for 10 meters, 3kc FM is legal from 28.300 - 29.700 (usa).
