Ariane 4 Launch

 >From Florida Today:

Arianespace will use an Ariane 44LP, the Ariane 4 family version equipped
with two liquid-propellant and two solid-propellant strap-on boosters, to
launch the SUPERBIRD-4 communications satellite for Japanese
telecommunications operator Space Communications Corporation (SCC). Launch
remains on target for 8:04 p.m. EST tonight from Kourou, French Guiana. This
will be the 95th launch of an Ariane 4 and the 23rd in the Ariane 44LP
configuration; SUPERBIRD-4 is checked out in a clean room in preparation for
launch. Built by Hughes Space and Communications, the satellite is a HS 601
HP platform equipped with 23 Ku-band and 6 Ka-band transponders.
