Re: KPC-9612 Plus and PacComm

Hi Tom

I did not see the start of this thread, but here are my experiences with
9600 modems.

I use Kantronics and PacComm products at home and in commercial
installations. I have an industrial network running with 32 PacComm
I-Spirit2 TNCs. The "I" is the industrial version of the Spirit2. PacComm
was very helpful to supply the units with my specifications and these TNCs
have been running very happily at 19200 baud since 1996.

I am surprised you did not receive a reply to your enquiry. Perhaps there
was a problem with the message. Try again.

I can certainly recommend any PacComm product. I am also satisfied with my
Kantronics KPC3 TNCs at 1200 baud.

Regards
Deon ZR1DQ

| Thanks Roy,
|
| This is what I have also surmised. Thus far I've got two replys (besides
| yours) both saying about the same thing.
|
| I recommended that my friend get a Timewave (ex AEA) PK-96 as I have had
| very good luck using it (easy to set up). Unfortunately, it doesn't seem
to
| be available right now -- AES has not been able to get product from
| Timewave. Neither has AES been able to get product from PacCom -- my
second
| recommendation was the Spirit 2 Satellite model. I am also interested in
| the Spirit 2 to upgrade my system but thus far I've not gotten any
answers
| to my e-mail inquiries -- there may be a problem! :-(
|
| I'm now considering the TNC-3S from Symek. It looks like a good unit but
| I'm not sure that I would recommend it to a beginner -- it seems to be
quite
| complex.
