This is what I have also surmised. Thus far I've got two replys (besides
yours) both saying about the same thing.
I recommended that my friend get a Timewave (ex AEA) PK-96 as I have had
very good luck using it (easy to set up). Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to
be available right now -- AES has not been able to get product from
Timewave. Neither has AES been able to get product from PacCom -- my second
recommendation was the Spirit 2 Satellite model. I am also interested in
the Spirit 2 to upgrade my system but thus far I've not gotten any answers
to my e-mail inquiries -- there may be a problem! :-(
I'm now considering the TNC-3S from Symek. It looks like a good unit but
I'm not sure that I would recommend it to a beginner -- it seems to be quite
complex.
