The FT847 phone jack is held in place with a sliding 3/4 circlip.
Just slide the circlip out from the phone jacks plastic threads and
the whole unit will come out.
I had the opportunity to do the Yaesu'octomy while replacing the power
switch that went south.

It must snap in there some how. Not really sure though!
I ended up sticking two soldering irons in the gap as well. I was
loathe to
do it, but I had no choice! You just gotta be careful!
