More surplus DSS in future ?

Changes occuring to DIRECTV.
Also NASA TV appears to be coming to DIRECTV.
DIRECTV new six channels are: WorldLink (ch. 375), NASA TV (ch. 376), PBS
YOU (ch. 377), StarNet (ch. 378), ClaraVision (ch. 480), Inspirational Life
(ch. 481).

Some of the six new channels will be transmitted to all DIRECTV subscribers
from the primary satellites located at 101 degrees west. A new dish and
satellite receiver will not be required for reception. Other new public
interest channels will be transmitted from a secondary satellite located at
119 degrees west and will require a new DIRECTV Plus system.

At press time this morning, Friday, December 10, DIRECTV had not
specifically announced which public interest channels would be transmitted
from primary or secondary satellites.

DIRECTV Plus hardware includes an oval 18 by 24 inch dish that can receive
satellite signals from DIRECTV's primary and secondary satellites at the
same time. DIRECTV Plus systems are or will be soon available from RCA and
HNS (Hughes Network Systems).
