The UOSAT standard stems from the Kansas City cassette tape recording
standard used aeons ago on computers like the Altair and Imsai.
The 1200/2400 is easy to generate in hardware with a few gates
and a 2400 Hz clock signal.
The nearly equivalent standard is Bell 202 with 1200/2200 Hz tones.
I have used off-the-shelf 202 modems to copy the UOSAT signals, but
it is necessary to invert the output data polarity (like in the
RS232 connection) because the UOSAT 0/1 polarity is opposite of
BELL 202.
